Effective AUGUST 4, 2008:

 

  1. Student login accounts and E-Mail services are changing. 
     
  2. All faculty, staff and students will use their new username and password to access most of the systems on campus:

    • Login to computers on campus.
    • E-mail services.
    • WebAdvisor.
    • LU Wireless
    • EZProxy for off campus library resource access.

Note: You will use your old username and blackboard password to access Blackboard for the Fall semester. 

What else has changed?

  1. 632 campus computers were upgraded to Office 2007. 
  2. A virtualized and modern networking server and disk space infrastructure was installed for the LU Enterprise services. This system can be easily expanded based on Lincoln University's needs and is GreenIT friendly; saving Lincoln money in energy and future maintenance and upgrade costs.
  3. All networking services were migrated from Novell to Active Directory. 438 employee accounts were created using the new username format.
  4. An integrated Microsoft Exchange environment was installed for Faculty and Staff. An easier to use web interface was installed called Outlook for Web Application, OWA.
  5. 632 desktop computers, 83 network printers and 438 faculty and staff accounts and e-mail services were migrated to the new LU Enterprise Enviroment.
  6. The Google Apps services were setup.
  7. 3493 student accounts were created and provisioned for use on the LU Enterprise network and Google Apps.
  8. OIT changed general use computer lab login procedures so that students can use their new accounts to login.  Students will have 500 mb of academic file storage on the network.
  9. A self service password reset utility was installed.  334 users have enrolled in this service and 31 users have reset their password successfully in the last month.
