Philosophy and Religion

Mission:

How do we know the things we claim to know? What is ultimately real? What is
justice? Is there a God? These and other big questions make up philosophy.
While often thought to be matters of opinion only, philosophy enables students
to make some progress with ultimate questions. In addition to its intrinsic
interest, philosophy is also useful to all students for training in logical thinking,
argument analysis, and learning to think creatively and imaginatively about
complex questions. The Philosophy Area offers a variety of courses across the
range of such questions.

Degrees Offered:
Minor in Philosophy

Midwest Philosophy and Theology Conference Proceedings

Faculty:

Dr. Bruce Ballard
Dr. Jeff Freelin
Dr. Laurence Rohrer
