Reading Outlook Mail

To Read your Messages

After Outlook downloads your messages, or after you click the Send/Recv button on the toolbar, you can read messages either in a separate window or in the preview pane. Click the Inbox icon on either the Outlook bar or the Folders list.

  1. To view the message in the preview pane, click the message in the message list.
  2. To view the message in a separate window, double-click the message in the message list.

 

To View a File Attachment

  • In the preview pane, click the paper clip icon in the message header, and then click the file name. -or-
  • At the top of the message window, double-click the file attachment icon in the message header.

Tips

  • To save a file attachment, click the File menu, point to Save Attachments, and then click the file name. To save the attachment from the preview pane, click the paperclip icon, and then select Save Attachments.
  • When a message has a file attached to it, a paper clip is displayed next to it in the message list.

 

To Forward a Mail Message

  1. Select the message you want to forward, and then on the Message menu, click Forward.
  2. Type the e-mail name for each recipient. Separate each name with a comma or a semicolon ( ; ).
  3. Type your message, and then click the Send button on the toolbar.
