Webmaster's Corner

I had the opportunity to speak at the Fall Faculty Institute last Friday.  It was great fun to discuss the new website design and the content management system.  Everyone seemed interested and asked a lot of questions.  I'm posting my Power Point presentation here to share with anyone who might be interested.

Redesign of the Lincoln continues.  The navigation structure is morphing to match the new format and I get calls almost daily from people asking where something has moved.  A lot of exciting changes are also taking place to the look and feel of the site, including a new Students landing page and the inclusion of information for Residence Life that was started as a student project last Spring.

I plan to continue working with the various departments through September and hope to have everything in place by the end of the month.  Keep checking here to find out what's new.

The SiteBuilder Toolkit for editing Lincoln web pages has been recently upgraded to v 2.93.  This version includes many enhancements including:

1. The editor is compatable in all of the newest versions of the browsers including Internet Explorer 7.0 and Firefox v 5.0.
    
2. A new Internet explorer plugin called I-SPELLER is used for spell checking.  All users must download and install this functionality.  Instructions for installing this program are found below. 
    
3. There are many new features in the editor including an integrated file and image upload feature, flash movie insertion tool and many other editing features.  You may download the newest manual by clicking on the Site Builder 2.9 User Manual link below. 
    
4. NOTE:  The new  integrated file and images upload option is explained in pages 16 - 20 of the Site Builder 2.9 user manual.
